Most team logos are crests: one strong emblem, the team name and, often, a year or a place. This generator is tuned for that — a round badge or a stacked mark, one icon (a shield, a shield with a star, a star, a crown, a flame or a paw print) and a heavy athletic face that holds up on a jersey, a banner and a sticker. It does not draw mascots: if your team is the Wolves or the Bears, the paw print is the closest mark here, and a drawn animal is a job for an illustrator.

Choose an icon and your club colors, set the team name in a heavy athletic face, and add an “Est.” year. The name sits on one line, so shorter names hold their size best. It renders live; download the transparent PNG free or take the vector SVG for kit suppliers, print and socials.

Emblem, name and year

The strongest team marks pair one simple emblem with a confident name and a year. Keep the icon bold and the colors to two; the badge layout balances the name and year for you. Want the emblem beside the name instead? The sports logo generator adds a horizontal layout.

Team crest ideas

Most team logos are crests. Four ways to build yours, then make it in the generator above:

Paw-print crest

For teams named after an animal — Wolves, Bears, Tigers: the paw icon in the round badge, the name across the middle. The generator draws no mascots.

Initial / lettermark

One or two letters for a clean, modern team mark or a sports monogram.

Wordmark + year

The team name with an "Est." year — collegiate and collectible.

Shield + star

The shield-and-star icon above the name — league, cup and tournament energy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a logo for my sports team?

Enter your team name, pick an icon (shield, star, crown, flame or paw), choose two team colors and a bold typeface, and add an “Est.” year. The crest assembles live and exports as SVG and PNG.

Does it draw mascots, and can I copy a real team’s?

It draws no mascots: the icons are original geometric shapes — a paw print, shields, a star, a crown, a flame — not any existing team’s logo. And avoid copying a specific club’s mascot or wordmark, so your crest stays your own.

Can I use my logo commercially?

Yes. Logos you make here are built from an original parametric engine and open-licensed (SIL OFL) fonts, so you can use the downloaded files for commercial projects — merch, channels, storefronts and print. See the licensing page for the full terms.

Will my team logo be trademark-safe?

We don’t run a trademark search, and a generated logo is not a registered trademark. Before you build a brand around it, check it against existing marks (for example the USPTO database) and avoid names or symbols that copy an existing team. The design is a starting point, not legal advice.
